Why This Matters: Risk management is a technical activity and profession. However, when it comes down to projects, risk management is a human interactive sport . At best when all hands on the project are on the same page, things work out great. But sometimes, project risk management can be very human with blame allocations, biases, and ego-driven hard opinions.

What do I mean by ‘hard.’ Project manager and team leads can take seemingly hard positions. These can be difficult to reconcile especially where the project manager is a figure head, administrator, shepherd, or facilitator. Yes, more project managers in a collaborative work environment facilitate not manage projects.

Project Question: When you’ve seen project manager in a tough spot, what did the project manager do: blame others, blame you, or took responsibility of a screw up? This now begs the question, what does project leadership or project management mean to you?
