Why This Matters: As projects increase in size and complexity, the program or project office uses a project dashboard to keep track of critical issues. If a key project performance indicator is off target, then this is usually revealed on the project dashboard. Key project performance indicators can be cost, schedule, scope, change order or quality. As these project indicators increase then these are project risks, that need to be managed.

The dashboards can reveal early trends. If project costs or schedule are increasing, these can usually be detected early through a trendline. This type of anticipatory management can prevent a risk from occurring.

Project Question: Can a RMF be a project dashboard for your projects? Why? Or, why not?
